Turkey has inked the memorandum of understanding that outlines the cooperation between Turkey and FRONTEX (European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the External Borders) on the prevention of irregular immigration to Europe.
A Foreign Ministry statement said Turkey has done its part to prevent the irregular immigration, which is called the problem of the century.
"Establishment of organizational cooperation with FRONTEX with a memorandum of understanding proves our determination to fight irregular immigration and the value we attach to cooperation." reads the Foreign Ministry statement.
According to the memorandum of understanding experience and information will be shared with FRONTEX, joint assessment of mixed immigration waves will be made and projects will be prepared.
